Course Information

The classic when it comes to Half Marathons, the EVES Huntly Half Marathon is NZ’s longest running standalone Half Marathon event having started in 1981.

This course is one that is fast. It features a virtually flat single out and back route that follows the mighty Waikato River completely on sealed and closed roads. This course will only be used for the Half Marathon participants and no other event distances.

The event returns to its original time of year in May and is perfectly positioned 2 weeks after the Rotorua Marathon allowing for that goal of running a fast time on this fast course.

The event involves the traditional Half Marathon distance of 21.1km, along with a 10km, 5km and Kids 2kms. All events have the option of either a Run or Walk.

Half Marathon

EVES Huntly Half Marathon Course is a exciting new course that takes in the sights of East Huntly starting and finishing at the Huntly Speedway and then around East Mine and Lake Hakanoa and the streets of Huntly before returning to the East Mine and speedway. This course will only be run once as the water levels rise in the East mine so does our turnaround point, (don’t worry we will make up the distance each year) making this course unique with a bit of everything

EVES Huntly Half Marathon also offers prize money for the first 3 paces and a time bonus prize if winner beats the clock

  • 1st Place ‘male and female’ $400
  • 2nd Place ‘male and female’ $200
  • 3rd Place ‘male and female’ $100
  • 1st Place male under 65 minutes $200
  • 1st Place female under 75 minutes $200

10km

The EVES Huntly Half Marathon 10km Course is now here, starting and finishing at the Huntly Speedway and then around East Mine before returning to the speedway and finish line. This course will only be run once as the water levels rise in the East mine so does our turnaround point, (don’t worry we will make up the distance each year) making this course unique with a bit of everything

5km

The EVES Huntly Half Marathon 5km Course will be starting and finishing at the Huntly Speedway and then around East Mine before returning to the speedway and finish line. This course will only be run once as the water levels rise in the East mine so does our turnaround point, (don’t worry we will make up the distance each year) making this course unique with a bit of everything
